Second Prescription Drug Take-Back Scheduled for November 13, 2010

Upper Bucks Healthy Communities Healthy Youth (UBHCHY) Coalition together with justCommunity, Inc. is proud to announce a second Prescription Drug Take-Back day scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2010.  From 10am to 2pm Richland Township, Hilltown Township, Springfield Township, Quakertown Borough, Perkasie Borough, and Dublin Borough Police Departments will serve as drop off sites in Upper Bucks County for individuals to anonymously drop off unwanted and unused prescription drugs of any kind. In comparison to the overwhelmingly successful prescription drug take-back held on September 25, 2010, the following changes have been made to further benefit the community in this effort:
* Liquid medications will be accepted, not just pills.
* Additional pick-ups will be made at county supported residences. Please contact info@ubhchy.org for specific locations.
* Residents who are debilitated or confined in their home who receive services from the Meals on Wheels Association of America can opt to have medications picked up from their residence via the coordination of the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging.
Due to the severity of the prescription drug access and usage among teens in the Upper Bucks Areas and the grave concern for misuse and abuse of medication loose in our neighborhoods, UBHCHY strongly encourages your participation and support of the Prescription Drug Take-Back event this weekend on Saturday, November 13, 2010 between 10am and 2pm.
If you are interested in volunteering to help with this event or would like more information, please contact Lee Rush at info@ubhchy.org.
