A two-day conference for youth and adults celebrating their work in community building initiatives across the region.

Come to focus on what matters to youth, not what's the matter with youth!

Along with four keynote addresses, we will be having 30 practical, hands-on break out sessions during the conference for youth and adults together. See details below.

Dear Friend,

Please join us for one of the region's premier conferences: "Unleashing the Power of Youth and Community Potential". If you were with us last year you know what to expect. If you are considering attending this conference for the first time, here are some points to consider:

  • This is a conference focused on "what matters to youth", not "what's the matter with youth".

  • Having youth as an integral part of the planning, implementation and execution of the conference has been intentional and a necessary ingredient of the event.

  • There will be hundreds of people attending the conference from throughout Northeastern United States representing schools, community based-youth serving organizations, child care agencies, health systems, communities of faith, juvenile justice agencies, substance abuse and mental health facilities, community minded citizens, parents and youth.

  • This diverse group of people is vitally interested in discovering new ways to think, speak, behave and plan together in order to bring fresh perspectives to old problems; and to focus on strength based solutions to these challenges.

Our four nationally known keynote presenters this year will cover a broad range of topics such as: the importance of humor, the power of using native ways to build community, learning to slow down in the ever increasing pace of our culture and the beauty of seeing school communities rally around asset development as a core value.

You will also have an opportunity to experience many of the topic focused workshops and institutes offered over the two days by dynamic presenters. This year we have added more workshops geared specifically towards youth.

So whether you first became involved in community mobilization through the Communities That Care (CTC) process, a Municipal Alliance, a Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth asset building initiative, a Community of Promise site or another grass roots effort begun on behalf of positive youth development¯you are welcome at this conference!

Come and make new friendships, renew your spirit and share your stories. You will gain new energy and creative ideas for your community.

    See you in October.
