Community is the basis of the Upper Bucks Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Initiative taking root in the Pennsylvania communities of Quakertown and Pennridge. UBHCHY is part of a larger national movement involving over 500 communities throughout the United States and Canada who are using “asset development” to advance the well-being of adolescents and children.
Asset-Building is asking for commitments from adults to be “intentional” and more mindful in their interactions with youth. It isn’t about creating more programs or activities for youth. It is about integrating asset-building into every program that already exists.
Results are the focus of our initiative. We look at data to identify needs, target our efforts and measure success.
