Upper Bucks report reflects life and times of local teens

The 2014 version of a report called the “Upper Bucks Student Support Card” is a snapshot of local teenagers’ lives, their triumphs and their struggles. According to the 2014 Student Support Card, teenagers in the Quakertown, Pennridge and Palisades schools districts have more developmental assets than ever before to help them make positive life choices.

Call for Entries – 2013 Performing Arts Festival

Teens, we want you to tell us what’s really on your mind! JustCommunity is seeking applications through April 1 for its 2013 Performing Arts Festival, scheduled for 4pm Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the newly renovated Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope.

Greetings for a healthy, happy new year for 2013. I hope this note finds you well. It has been an extremely busy several months with coalition activities-several are highlighted with this newsletter.

September 29th Take Back Day

As part of the national Drug Take Back Day, the UBHCHY Coalition once again participated in this event on September 29th. The event was a huge success with over 5,600 pounds of drugs collected throughout all of the county. Since the inception of the program, over 17,000 pounds have been collected in Bucks County.

Palisades Parent Chat

The Palisades High School Library was the setting for a September 24th Parent Chat. The topic for the evening’s discussion was “Social Issues and Our High School Students.” Attendees were the parents of 9th graders at Palisades High School.

Strengthening Families in the Upper Bucks County

Over the past year, the local coalition in Palisades called PACT (Partners in Action for Community Togetherness) has hosted five cycles of the Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth 10-14. Each cycle includes seven weekly, two hour sessions with both parents and their children.
